The highly anticipated Gravity SUV is now here and just days after it’s revealed it is already setting new standards in the world of electric vehicles. Building upon the sleek design of the Air, the Lucid Gravity offers space for up to seven passengers. Despite its taller profile and distinct shoulders, the Gravity boasts an impressive drag coefficient of less than 0.24, surpassing other three-row SUVs. The heightened front end provides ample room for a spacious frunk, complete with an option to purchase a foldable seat cushion, ensuring a comfortable experience for tailgating or camping,
Inside, the expansive interior accommodates seven passengers, with the flexibility of flat-folding second and third rows, creating more than 112 cubic feet of cargo space. In a departure from the norm, the Gravity ensures generous legroom in the third row, comfortably accommodating two adults. The second-row seats can be adjusted forward to enhance space in the third row as needed.
The driving experience is elevated through Lucid’s Clearview Cockpit, showcasing a curved 34-inch OLED display. The layout enhancements, coupled with a redesigned steering wheel, ensure an uninterrupted view. Notably, the lower screen adopts a landscape orientation, setting it apart from the portrait layout in the Air model. The center console is equipped with two charging pads, while Gravity’s rear seat entertainment is catered to with two fold-down trays designed for personalized device mounting.
Lucid prioritizes comfort and serenity with the introduction of the Lucid Sanctuary and Lucid Spaces systems. Lucid Sanctuary offers experiences designed to bring tranquility on the go, even during charging stops. Lucid Spaces transforms the cabin into a serene oasis, immersing drivers in calming virtual environments, like Lake Tahoe and Joshua Tree. Collaborating with Meditopia, Lucid enhances the experience with a guided meditation offering.
Beneath its sleek exterior, the Gravity is built on an evolution of Lucid’s 900-volt architecture, featuring two electric motors, one on each axle. Although specific horsepower details are pending, Lucid promises acceleration from 0-60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds, and a payload capacity exceeding 1,500 pounds.
With an impressive driving range exceeding 440 miles, the Gravity outperforms rivals like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and Tesla Model Y. Charging is expedited, with up to 200 miles of range added in just 15 minutes.
To ensure a smooth and comfortable family ride, the Gravity offers an optional Zero Gravity air suspension that can automatically adjust settings. Manual adjustments allow for customization, raising the Gravity for off-road adventures or lowering it to optimize efficiency.
With production set to commence in late 2024, the Lucid Gravity holds the pledge to redefine luxury in the electric vehicle landscape.
