Before its Monterey Car Week debut, we had already spent some time with the Lucid Gravity. Now Lucid has given its exceptionally capable three-row SUV a much more serious attitude.
Meet the Gravity GT-S.
With 1,070 horsepower and a 0–60 mph time of 3.1 seconds, the GT-S turns the Gravity into something rather extraordinary: a seven-seat luxury SUV with the performance numbers of a serious sports car. It is, according to Lucid, America’s most powerful three-row SUV.
The performance isn’t just about the number. Lucid’s Dynamic Handling Package comes standard, bringing independent rear-wheel steering and adaptive three-chamber air suspension designed to make all that power considerably more usable. The result is a Gravity that should feel as comfortable carving through a canyon as it does carrying seven people and their luggage.
The visual changes are more restrained, but that’s part of the appeal. Blue exterior accents and painted brake calipers give the GT-S a sharper personality, while the Mojave PurLuxe interior gets blue stitching and piping, blue seat belts, a blue steering-wheel marker, and Lucid Bear embossing on the front headrests.
The Gravity has always been an interesting contradiction: enormous space and everyday practicality wrapped around some remarkably advanced technology. The GT-S simply turns up the volume.
Supercar acceleration. Seven seats. An electric powertrain.
For some, that combination may be slightly absurd. For Lucid, it makes perfect sense.
