There is no shortage of collaborations these days, but this feels like one we have genuinely been waiting for. While the market is filled with luxury SUVs promising rugged capability, few deliver it with this much authenticity, character, and style. The new 2027 Bronco Filson arrives as a fully realized expression of adventure chic — equal parts utility, craftsmanship, and off-road confidence.
Ford and Seattle-based outdoor outfitter Filson have partnered on the first-ever Bronco Filson, a special edition rooted in a shared philosophy: gear should last, work hard, and be trusted when failure is not an option. The collaboration draws from both brands’ deep American heritage, outfitting explorers, outdoor workers, and backcountry adventurers with products built to endure harsh environments and real-world use.
“Bronco and Filson are built from the same idea — that the right equipment should help people go farther, work harder, and stay out longer in the toughest conditions,” said Andrew Frick, President, Ford Blue and Model e. “This collaboration brings that shared heritage to life, combining Bronco’s proven capability with Filson’s legacy of durable, purpose-built gear to deliver something ready for real-world adventure from day one.”
Every Bronco Filson comes powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 shared with the Bronco Raptor, though refined with Filson-specific tuning. It is engineered for challenging terrain, delivering the immediate torque and confidence required when climbing mud, loose rock, or deep backcountry trails where hesitation is not an option.
Each model is also equipped with the Bronco Sasquatch package, including 35-inch tires, front and rear locking differentials, and GOAT (Goes Over Any Terrain) Modes. Ford also custom-tuned the Fox piggyback reservoir shocks specifically for Bronco Filson, balancing serious off-road capability with a more composed on-road ride.
What makes the collaboration especially compelling is how naturally Filson’s rugged visual language fits the Bronco platform. According to Ford designers, Filson imagery was pinned to the mood boards during the development of the sixth-generation Bronco — weathered tin-cloth jackets, fly-fishing gear, worn canvas bags, and the honest functionality of objects built to age beautifully through use. Words like “trusted,” “authentic,” and “honest” shaped the original design process long before this collaboration officially existed.
The result feels less like a marketing exercise and more like a natural extension of both brands. This is where adventure chic meets genuine capability — a premium 4×4 that blends Bronco’s open-air freedom and proven off-road engineering with Filson’s timeless outdoor aesthetic and uncompromising durability.
