Known for its sleek modern architecture, fantastic shopping, dining. and art galleries, the Miami Design District is the perfect location to show off the Black Badge Dawn. Shooting at night added to the allure of this special Rolls-Royce and we came part of the on-street art scene.
With days spent on the pristine stretch of beach at Acqualina Resort and Spa, our nights were spent in the chic comfort of our roof-down Black Badge Dawn, in and around Miami.
The House of Rolls-Royce is continuing the transformation of luxury and style with this 6.6 liters, 593 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V12 engine powered Black Badge Dawn; the darker more fashion-forward Rolls-Royce. Gone are the days when the Rolls-Royce was only for the chauffeur-driven privileged few. Today the Black Badge Special limited editions are designed for the young and young at heart. For those who are ready to celebrate their success, owning the open-air Black Badge Dawn is truly a statement.
In March 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show, Rolls-Royce gave us a new bespoke family of cars called Black Badge, developed in response to the fresh lifestyle requirements of a younger, more dynamic customer.
Since its introduction, Black Badge has attracted new owners to the House of Rolls-Royce and overwhelmingly increased customer demand for all things related to the Black Badge. From that special red paint and lacquer that has been fastidiously applied and hand-polished in a process that amounts to the most exhaustive painting and polishing process ever used for a solid paint color. The roof, which opens in a ‘Silent Ballet’ to allow in the sounds of the night and day was a welcome joy during our shooting. Rolls-Royce’s bespoke designers created a true signifier of a more assertive alter-ego for the marque with the Black Badge.
Rising Out Of The Darkness
The Spirit of Ecstasy is transformed into a high-gloss finished in a perfectly executed black chrome. This transformation to a darker aesthetic extends to certain chrome surfaces including the front grille surround, boot lid finisher, exhaust pipes, and air inlet finisher. The effect is an authentic transformation that speaks of a bolder, more confident sensibility. In a finals act of artistic defiance, the ‘Double R’ signifiers on the Rolls-Royce badges are inverted in color.
This bold, edgy design ethos extends beautifully into the fabulous interior, an exquisitely appointed staging point for patrons who seek to discover the elements with the roof down. The Black Badge Dawn is for forward-thinking individuals that have an uncompromising refusal to accept the status quo and a constant yearn to innovate and create.
