As we continue celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of M, what better way to celebrate than by visiting the BMW CCA Foundation’s The Ultimate Driving Museum in Greer, South Carolina? During our visit, we admired classic BMWs while also experiencing the exhilaration of driving a few. Kicking off our BMW Power of M Classic Celebration series, we will be indulging in quality time with some of our favorite M cars from the past, starting with the exclusive 2013 M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition, of which only 200 were produced.

In Rare Fire Orange

In late 2012, Skip Barber, the former owner of the historic Lime Rock Park racing circuit located in northwestern Connecticut, aptly described this car as “a classic car for a classic track.” Priced from $70,995, the M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition was crafted to honor the enduring bond between BMW automobiles, the renowned Lime Rock Park racing circuit, and the countless passionate drivers and fans who unite around them.
This rare Fire Orange gem features Anthracite and Black cloth seating with Nappa leather trim. Equipped with the sought-after Competition Package, it boasts the M3’s signature carbon fiber composite roof panel, a lightweight Inconel titanium exhaust muffler, carbon fiber front and rear aerodynamic aids, and an Anthracite Alcantara-covered flat-bottom steering wheel. Each M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition is distinguished by a numbered plaque on the center console, a unique decal on the left-rear quarter window, and a certificate of authenticity.
Lime Rock Park stands as one of America’s most revered road racing venues, operating continuously since its inception in 1957. The M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition stands as the quintessential vehicle to conquer its challenging track. Here’s a fun fact: among the 200 examples produced, 128 come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the remaining 72 are equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Jeff Perez, Senior Editor at Motor1.com is a very happy to be behind the wheel of the M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition.
