Convertible Corvette E-Ray

The American Supercar

Spending time with the first-ever electrified Corvette was an exhilarating experience. Now sporting an all-wheel-drive and a powerful 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8, the E-Ray proves to be a true supercar. This new Corvette allows you to arrive in style, no matter the season, with the roof up or down. Like all E-Rays, our hardtop convertible uses electrification to enhance the driving experience with intense straight-line performance, all-weather confidence, and sure-footed grand touring capabilities that only eAWD can achieve.

The low-end torque thrust is a signature Corvette experience, and the E-Ray doesn’t disappoint. Power comes from the 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8, delivering 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque to the rear axle. This is paired with an electric motor that channels an additional 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels via a 1.9 kWh battery pack, together, the E-Ray produces a combined 655 horsepower from both the electric motor and the Small Block V-8.

The E-Ray’s electrified propulsion system offers thrilling acceleration, allowing you to power out of corners and easily complete passing maneuvers. It also provides limited all-electric propulsion at startup, at the driver’s discretion. The E-Ray’s standard Active Fuel Management system uses the electric motor to extend operation in various driving scenarios. The amount of electric assist is tailored to each of the Corvette E-Ray’s six driver-selectable modes: Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, My Mode, and Z-Mode. Drivers can also engage the Charge+ feature to maximize the battery’s state of charge. But let’s be honest, it’s all about Stealth Mode, which enables all-electric driving at startup for a limited time before the engine kicks in for normal driving.

At first glance, the E-Ray shares its purposeful, wide-body proportions with the Z06, accommodating wide wheels that help manage the car’s greater torque delivery. The lightweight alloy wheels, featuring a twisted five-spoke star design, are exclusive to the E-Ray. “There’s never been a Corvette like the E-Ray, and its sophisticated design reflects that,” said Phil Zak, Executive Design Director, of Global Chevrolet. “It starts with the body-color trim, which draws full attention to the exotic proportions of the E-Ray. The interiors allow customers to express their individuality through various color executions, offering  a refined or dynamic sports aesthetic.”
