Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge -

The House of Rolls-Royce is continuing the transformation of luxury in the world of style with the new 6.6 liters, 593 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V12 engine powered Dawn Black Badge; the darker more fashion-forward Rolls-Royce. For years Rolls-Royce was known as the ultimate weekend car, and for the privileged few it was the charge of their chauffeur. The Rolls-Royce Ghost and Wraith, Black Badge Special limited editions are cars for drivers. designed for both the young and young at heart. Those that celebrate their success with very classy toys. The open-air Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge is truly a luxurious ride. Equally at home at the Mansions At Acqualina in Sunny Isles Florida, the Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, East Hampton, and exclusive driveways. We traveled to Nashville to spend time with a Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge. From city driving to the winding country roads, this new Rolls-Royce embodied open-air luxury. Back in March 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show, Rolls-Royce gave us a new bespoke family of cars called Black Badge, developed in response to the fresh lifestyle requirements of a younger, more dynamic customer.

The most spirited Rolls-Royce

Bolder And Confident

Since its introduction, Black Badge has attracted new owners to the House of Rolls-Royce and overwhelmingly increased customer demand for Ghost Black Badge and Wraith Black Badge. The time is just right for a Black Badge Dawn. Our Dawn Black Badge had passers-by in Nashville taking a double-take and reaching for their camera phones.  Notice that special red paint and lacquer that has been fastidiously applied and hand-polished in a process that amounts to the most exhaustive painting and polishing process ever used for a solid paint color. The roof, which opens in a ‘Silent Ballet’ to allow in the sounds of the night and day was a welcome joy during our shooting. In creating Black Badge, Rolls-Royce’s bespoke designers have sought to create true signifiers of this more assertive alter-ego for the marque. Dawn gets this same treatment. The Spirit of Ecstasy was transformed into a high-gloss finished in a perfectly executed black chrome. This transformation to a darker aesthetic extends to certain chrome surfaces including the front grille surround, boot lid finisher, exhaust pipes, and air inlet finisher. The effect is an authentic transformation that speaks of a bolder, more confident sensibility. Finally, the ‘Double R’ signifiers on the Rolls-Royce badges are inverted in color, confirming the creation of a true alter-ego of the marque.

crafted for adventure

This bold, edgy design ethos extends beautifully into the fabulous interior, an exquisitely appointed staging point for patrons who seek to discover the elements with the roof down. Like the Ghost and Wraith, the essence of Dawn is has been amplified through the engineering that underpins the Black Badge philosophy. For Dawn the engineering created an entirely new exhaust system, that when deployed by the press of the ‘low’ button, celebrates Rolls-Royce’s hallmark V12 engine with a menacing bass-baritone, announcing its arrival with authority rather than hysteria. It is the new exhaust tone that adds an aural dimension to all the engineering enhancements. The Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge is for individuals that have an uncompromising refusal to accept the status quo and a constant yearn to innovate, create and advanceBlack Badge Dawn.
