Limited to only ten units worldwide, this is not a typo, but a declaration of intent. Italian excellence, extreme performance, and absolute exclusivity converge in what is arguably the most radical Giulia ever produced.
This limited series marks Alfa Romeo’s first collaboration with the Luna Rossa team, the iconic Italian sailing team synonymous with technological innovation and competitive excellence. More than a sponsorship, the partnership represents a meeting of minds across engineering, materials research, and performance philosophy, unfolding through a sports alliance, technical collaboration, and the creation of special editions inspired by the world of competitive sailing.
All ten examples have already been spoken for, but their existence signals something larger. The Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa may be the opening chapter in a new era of ultra-focused, low-volume performance projects from Alfa Romeo — and a clear message to the establishment that Italy is playing at the sharpest edge of the segment.
At the core of the Luna Rossa is a dedicated carbon-fiber aerodynamics package developed to dramatically increase efficiency and stability without compromising top speed. The result is a fivefold increase in downforce compared to the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio, while maintaining remarkably low drag. Every aerodynamic intervention has been obsessively refined, managing airflow with precision to reduce turbulence and exploit every useful vortex. Crucially, the balance remains virtually identical to the production car, preserving the Giulia’s innate agility while dramatically elevating its performance envelope.
Power comes from the iconic 520-horsepower twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, delivering the unmistakable character that defines the Quadrifoglio lineage.
Inside, the collaboration becomes tactile. New Sparco seats feature exclusive upholstery inspired by the materials and graphics of the Luna Rossa crew’s personal flotation devices. Embedded within the dashboard fascia is a wafer-thin film taken from an authentic Luna Rossa sail, machined and integrated to bring a physical fragment of sailing history into the cabin. Carbon-fiber trim throughout, including the central tunnel and seat shells, is subtly embellished with Luna Rossa branding, reinforcing its status as a true collector’s piece.
Announced last June, the Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa partnership will extend beyond the road. Together, they prepare to challenge the 38th America’s Cup — the most prestigious sailing competition in the world — to be held in Italy for the first time, against the dramatic backdrop of the Bay of Naples.
