Jaguar F-Type

Traveling through the mountain ranges, rolling hills and coastal highways of the countries of Europe is romantically, and aptly called ‘grand touring.’ In America, we have the ‘road-trip,’ which is definitively more task-sounding than alluring, and with Americans rethinking their transportation options, the concept of ‘grand touring’ never sounded better. For those that don’t need to pack trunks of gear and their families into SUVs for their weekend excursions, their get-away ride should be spirited, sexy, and swift. Gone are the days when the 2-seater sports car best served up exhilaration in small doses and quick rides.

Grand Touring For 2

We took the new Jaguar F-Type R on an excursion from New York City to the 1000 Island Harbor Hotel in Clayton New York on the St. Lawrence River. Grand touring for two, indeed, complete with impressive sports car performance, high style, and comfort.

This F-Type is every bit a Jaguar sports car from the materials, craftsmanship, and the new driver-focused interior with a 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster. The F-Type’s upgraded chassis with new springs, dampers, anti-roll bars, and rear knuckles all made for a great distance ride which is something you don’t expect in a sports car. We blasted old-school 1990’s music through the Meridian audio and it sounded great. Our fantastic supercharged V8 excelled at the onramps reaching 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds and thankfully the maximum speed of our F-TYPE R is electronically-limited 186mph, not that we ever approached such speed.

This two-seat sports car is the perfect balance of performance and bold design with appointments and detailing that finish the car to sexy perfection. Jaguar has built F-Types to fit into any lifestyle by offering a range of powerful engines that include four, six, and eight-cylinder options. All matched with eight-speed Quickshift transmissions with full manual control using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The moment you walk up to the F-Type the visual power and style are not overwhelming but daring and sleek. Once inside, after pressing the start button and igniting the roar of the exhaust note your thoughts are redirected to the brain’s pleasure center, and echoing inside your head your hear, let’s tour! Jaguar F-Type.
