Genesis Redrawn

X Gran Coupe Concept and X Gran Convertible Concept

A World Premiere

By Genesis Design

Last week in Seoul, Genesis unveiled two visionary concept vehicles—the X Gran Coupe Concept and the X Gran Convertible Concept—boldly reaffirming its role as a design-forward force in luxury automobiles. These concepts are more than future models; they are sculptural statements, showing how Genesis continues to fuse performance with artistic precision.

The X Gran Coupe Concept, inspired by the enduring elegance of Mediterranean olive trees, conveys timeless strength through flowing lines and grounded proportions. Its counterpart, the X Gran Convertible Concept, channels the sensuality of southern Europe’s finest wines—inviting the eye to linger on every curve, detail, and surface.

Crystal Accents, Material Harmony, and Elevated Interiors

A Design-Driven Future Unfolds

“In the 10 years since our launch, Genesis has been dedicated to delivering its unique values to more than 1.3 million customers worldwide,” said Mike Song, Global Head of Genesis. “We see this moment as a design launchpad for the next decade—revealing cars that not only perform but speak through design, offering a glimpse into the aesthetic future of Genesis.”

Both concepts highlight the interplay of crystal accents, tactile materials, and precision craftsmanship. Every detail, from ambient lighting to driver-focused geometry, supports a harmonious blend of serenity and sophistication.

Built upon the architecture of the flagship G90, these concepts reinterpret the brand’s identity with daring typological clarity. The Two-Line headlight motif—now extended boldly across the fenders—visually amplifies the widened stance, while the Crest Grille becomes a sculptural centerpiece, its diamond-patterned 3D mesh inspired by woven metal strings.

Design as Emotion, Motion as Art

The wide lower intakes and sculpted grille work aren’t just for aerodynamics—they embody the new Genesis language of muscular elegance. Long, uninterrupted hoods create silhouettes that feel in motion, even at rest.

“Each concept car is a distinct design philosophy in motion,” said Ilhun Yoon, Head of the Genesis Design Center in Seoul. “They’re not just vehicles—they’re expressions of how luxury design should feel: immersive, emotional, and unmistakably Genesis.”
