For long weekend getaways, the Villa Premiere has a vibe that is hard to describe. From its ultra-chic décor throughout to the immaculate inviting pool area and the relaxing and fine dining experiences, Guests are pampered with the luxury of specialness. Crafted into the experience, by both the fine design and owner and managerial discernment, is the lofty and delightful air of an oasis.
After an expedited arrival message (yes!), and the contemplative musing over the resort’s pillow menu and guest room scent menu at check-in, I was shown to my suite. The airy Mexican contemporary décor, full of beautiful warm wood details and a spacious open kitchenette opened on to an amazing view, over the resort’s pool to the Bay of Banderas and coastal Puerto Vallarta to the left. The Villa Premiere is less than a mile from PV’s historic and lively Malecon and the nearby Zona Romatica. Coming from New York City I love to walk and being able to stroll the boulevard to the old town, which is one of my favorite vacation destinations, was engaging, exciting, and freeing. I could come and go with ease and truly make my own schedule, all-around mealtimes, of course.
With only 80 rooms and suites at this adults-only contemporary resort the warm and friendly staff quickly become attuned to each guest’s individual needs. While the unending smile and friendly greetings were appreciated I found my requisite solitary poolside relaxation time-honored by the attendants even while they served never-ending cocktails and lunch to nearby guests. After a delicious lunch at the open-air La Ceiba I took my refreshing Margarita break in the swim-up edgeless pool where I meet a number of returning guests and fans of the resort. Then on to a beach cabana, a quick snack, the rest of my book, and the creeping anticipation of my planned sunset dinner at Villa Premiere’s sophisticated and gourmet La Corona. I greatly enjoyed every meal. Executive Chef Elias Sapien adds innovative nuance to his cuisine and the service is crisp. Watching the beach illuminate each morning, as the sun rises over the Sierra Madre Mountains while enjoying a plate full of fresh-baked pastries, blended juices, strong coffee, and gourmet Mexican breakfast dishes was a lasting pleasure. In the evenings amid the glow of the pool, dim lights at trendy and sophisticated La Corona, and at the intimate Mexican Cuisine Murales the resort becomes more intimate and elegantly romantic.
