Lexus and Tokyo design house AMBUSH have joined forces on The Future Classic Club, a new project celebrating the people, objects and ideas built to outlast the moment.
Debuting in New York during Fashion Week, the collaboration celebrates 25 years of the Lexus IS through a cinematic film and a limited-edition capsule collection designed by AMBUSH founder Yoon Ahn. Translating the design language of the IS into pieces to wear and keep, the collection lands somewhere between automotive design, fashion and contemporary culture.
The Future Classic Club is rooted in a shared Japanese heritage and a mutual belief in bold ideas, meticulous craftsmanship and distinctive creative vision. Founded by designer Yoon Ahn and musician and co-founder VERBAL, AMBUSH emerged from Tokyo’s creative underground before developing into a global force across fashion, music and culture. Tokyo itself remains a central influence, continuing to shape the worlds of design, fashion and music far beyond Japan.
For Lexus, the spirit of the Future Classic Club is embodied by the IS, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Introduced for the 2001 model year, the sports sedan challenged conventional ideas of what a luxury car could be for a younger generation, establishing a distinctive identity of its own.
Rather than chasing whatever happens to be next, The Future Classic Club is about what stays. The people who forge their own paths. The objects that develop character with time. And the ideas that become classics because they were never designed to follow the moment.
