Long regarded has one of the world’s most luxurious destinations for its dazzling social set, elegant casino, glittering nightlife, exclusive yacht clubs, regatta season, and its famed Grand Prix, the principality of Monaco is thriving with the most exciting allure for the Summer of 2017. Located on the fabulous French Riviera and framed by the stunning Mediterranean, Monaco is bordered by France on three sides.
The world-renowned Hôtel de Paris Monte Carlo is a legendary jet-set destination that has attracted a superstar clientele since its opening in 1864 as part of the development of Monte Carlo by the Société des Bains de Mer, under the tutelage of Charles III, Prince of Monaco. Charles III, was also the founder of the magnificently glamorous Belle Époque Monte Carlo Casino, a familiar haunt of Mr. James Bond, which is located across the street from the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo.
Upon your arrival at the truly gorgeous Hôtel de Paris Monte Carlo, the façade’s grandeur will take your breath away. Entering the spacious and opulent lobby is nearly as magical as stepping into a fairy tale. Both the glamour and notoriety of this paragon of luxury hotels are must-sees in Monaco. With 128 rooms including 74 suites and junior suites, the hotel prides its self by having a room suitable for every type of visitor. From the extended stay residents to multi-year visitors to those that are only staying a few days, extravagant and moderately priced accommodations are plentiful.
I enjoyed my stay in a junior Suite on the 7th floor, complete with stunning and sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea through large windows and a private covered terrace.
Named after Sir Winston Churchill, the epic Diamond Suite is located on the top floor of the hotel and the suite’s private access guarantees the upmost discretion for visiting dignitaries and celebrities. The Diamond Suite is accessed through a red hallway adorned with Churchill hallmarks, and the bespoke suite is dressed with some of Churchill’s rare furniture items and other personal objects. In the suite, guests will marvel at prints of Churchill’s original artwork that hang on display.
There is fantastic dining in Monaco and at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo a unique culinary experience inspired by the French Riviera awaits you at the fully renovated Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse à l’Hôtel de Paris. The internationally acclaimed award winning chef’s nightly masterpieces are as stunning as the restaurant’s décor. With a view to die for, the hotel’s rooftop, Le Grill, offers stunning views of Monaco Harbor and the Mediterranean for lunch and dinner. Guests can also visit La Terrasse de la Salle for romantic summer dining, or Côté Jardin restaurant for an informal buffet. Wine lovers will be impressed with the 600,000-bottle wine cellar at Côté Jardin.
Needless to say the Spa at the Hôtel de Paris Monte Carlo’s Thermes Marins de Monte-Carlo (the Sea Baths of Monte-Carlo), is one of the favorite indulgences of hotel guests and a welcome respite for yacht dwellers. Even the most demanding guests will be impressed by the spa, gym, hair salon, treatment rooms, and a fabulous spa restaurant, spread across four floors.
Getting to Monaco is very easy with Delta Air Lines via Nice, France departs from JFK on their non-stop 767-400ER service, and then connect to Heli Air Monaco for the 7-minute picturesque helicopter ride to Monaco.
