BMW’s mic drop moment is here with the BMW iX3, the first series-production of their Neue Klasse (New Class) model. It all started with the Vision Neue Klasse X concept, which introduced an all-new design language, giving this Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) a strikingly contemporary look. With a range of up to 400 miles and the ability to charge 230 miles in just 10 minutes, the iX3 is redefining what premium electric mobility looks like.

The all-new BMW iX3 introduces a design philosophy that will extend across the brand’s future range, signaling a new era for the Bavarian automaker. With its strong, upright stance, reimagined BMW kidneys, and horizontal light signature replacing chrome trim, the SAV blends modern clarity with timeless BMW DNA.

Comprehensive design protection has been registered to preserve this new form vocabulary. “The design of the Neue Klasse provides a very modern interpretation of what BMW has always stood for,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. “With our new design language, the new BMW iX3 looks future-focused, modern, and timeless – but, above all, more BMW than ever.”

At the front, the iX3 commands attention with its upright fascia, large air intakes, and a sculpted black lower apron. The redesigned BMW roundel rests above the kidneys in a subtle “valley” of the hood, emphasizing both heritage and modernity.

The rear mirrors this clarity, with large, uninterrupted surfaces punctuated by minimal lines. A black band and diffuser reinforce its sporty SAV character, while the standard roof spoiler adds dynamism with a central recess flowing neatly between the taillights.

A New BMW Design Language for the Electric Age

M Sport Packages for Dynamic Expression

Inside, the BMW iX3 balances driver-centric precision with passenger comfort. Its centerpiece is the BMW Panoramic iDrive, which elevates the digital user experience with intuitive control and immersive displays. Sustainable design plays a critical role, with the iX3 reducing its product carbon footprint by more than 30% over its lifecycle compared to earlier electric BMWs.

The BMW iX3 50 xDrive is powered by dual electric motors generating 463 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque. This propels the SAV from 0–60 mph in just 4.7 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 130 mph. Supporting these figures is a newly developed electronic architecture with four “superbrains” – high-performance processors coordinating performance, safety, and driver assistance features.

For those craving a sportier edge, the iX3 offers an optional M Sport package. It sharpens the SUV’s dynamic aura with redesigned aprons, air-guiding elements, two-tone painted side skirts, and a pronounced diffuser. Inside, M-specific detailing includes black Veganza/M PerformTex seats, an M steering wheel, pedals, and model-exclusive trim.

The M Sport Professional package takes it further with illuminated black-surround BMW kidney grilles, red brake calipers, black mirror caps, and M branding projected during the welcome/goodbye sequences.
