McLaren Artura Hybrid Supercar

Opens Doors for an Electrified Future
By Kimatni D. Rawlins

What an unforgettable experience driving the McLaren Artura during my stay in Monterey for car week. While my colleagues were busy admiring the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail , I had the privilege of spending time with a Silica White hybrid supercar. This remarkable vehicle offered me a glimpse into McLaren’s electrified future, thanks to its cutting-edge electric engine integrated into this new high-performance model.

The 671-horsepower supercar boasts a potent mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 3-liter 6-cylinder engine, a McLaren dual-clutch 8-speed transmission, and a compact 71kW electric motor, contributing an additional 94 horsepower. Complementing these powertrain elements are carbon ceramic brakes and lightweight forged alloy wheels fitted with staggered Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. Together, these performance components enable the British supercar to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3 seconds.

Meet McLaren’s Electrified Future

Don't Try To Keep Up

The name “Artura” is a fusion of “Art” and “Future,” capturing McLaren’s vision of an ideal daily driver. Notably, it’s the inaugural McLaren model to feature the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture, designed, engineered, and manufactured at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre in England, focusing on upcoming e-McLaren models.

The uncluttered yet ingenious interior of the Artura includes Clubsport performance seats, striking McLaren Orange seatbelts, an 8-inch portrait-oriented infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a high-end Bowers and Wilkins sound system, and a titanium harness bar for attaching racing belts.

With a multitude of available options and packages, such as the Gloss Black roof, carbon fiber diffuser, winglets, mirror caps, and front splitter, you’ll be fully prepared to embrace this electrifying British supercar.
