Southern Utah has a way of making everything else feel distant. Near Kanab, amid sculpted red rock and an ancient juniper forest, Six Senses Camp Korongo is planned as a 480-acre desert retreat where the landscape sets the pace. Its anticipated opening in 2029 brings a new vision of wilderness luxury to a remarkable corner of the American Southwest.
The plans call for 41 luxury tented pavilions and 12 branded residences, with interiors shaped by the colours, textures and cultural heritage of the surrounding landscape. Outside, the scale is immense: canyon walls, open desert and skies that seem to go on forever.
Days will be made for exploring, from hiking and canyoneering to evenings spent beneath some of the region’s darkest skies. Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks are among the major natural landmarks within reach, with the Grand Canyon and Arches also part of the wider Southwest landscape.
Back at camp, a Six Senses Spa will offer a quieter counterpoint to the terrain, with wellness experiences designed around individual needs. The ambition is to create a retreat that feels connected to its setting rather than removed from it.
Some landscapes need little introduction. They simply ask you to stay a little longer.
