Unprecedented capabilities
Last year we were very lucky to take part in the Hummer First Drive and in this open-air, all-electric super-truck with zero emissions built to experience zero limits.
Now almost a year later we put this ultimate expression of on and off-road performance to another test, first on NYC streets then the beaches of East Hampton, a sort of lifestyle of the rich and famous test.
In the city our large Hummer EV was able the navigated the crowded streets with ease, if busses can do it we can do it! On the LIE {Long Island Express Way) our cabin experience with HUMMER EV’s Bose Premium sound system with Centerpoint surround signal processing and 14 high-performance speakers gave us a powerful and immersive listening experience on the way to the Hamptons.
As we approach a portion of East Hampton beach we went to our Drive Mode Controls that included four pre-configured modes: Normal, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, and Terrain, along with the configurable My Mode — featuring a new Adrenaline Mode. After we made our selection we navigated a section of the closed beach with ease.
It was just amazing that demonstration of 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of electric propulsion all with zero emissions and no engine noise Just the sounds of sand and the roar from the Atlantic crashing waves. The ability to go almost anywhere, on- or off-road, combining fabulous performance with a nearly silent ride is something that can only be found in a HUMMER EV.
