Odyssey by Karl Lagerfeld

The Karl Lagerfeld Way

The commissioning of the legendary Karl Lagerfeld for ODYSSEY’s creative direction was sheer brilliance. This world-renowned haven of luxury and high standards Lagerfeld’s ODYSSEY makes the Hôtel Métropole Monaco’s most stylish must-visit destination. Lagerfeld created the modern-day interpretation of “Ulysses’ journey around the Mediterranean sea,” which consists of 18 expansive panels of backlit etched glass mural that frame the pool and the surrounding Odyssean concept area. His photographs were placed over historical images of the Greek coastline and etched into the glass to create this timeless tableau. Odyssey, designed by Karl Lagerfeld features Joel Robuchon’s third restaurant within the hotel, and the glamour of al fresco dining is matched only by the delicious cuisine. Soon Chef Rodrigo de la Calle’s Michelin star restaurant “El Invernadero” moves into its summer quarters at Odyssey. As in every other year during the summer season, the restaurant ODYSSEY opens its doors to a non-resident clientele. Odyssey has always given precedence to top-notch gastronomy featuring fresh, high-quality, seasonal ingredients, prepared with real precision to guarantee their authentic taste.

Mediterranean Bliss

“In fact, my collaboration with the Joël Robuchon Laboratory since 2014 was a defining moment in my professional career. Monsieur Robuchon always had faith in me; he was also convinced that the future of gastronomy would consist of locally produced ingredients and that the future would be green! Today, I am extremely proud to be able to share this common vision with clients at the Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo.”

Summer Nights at Odyssey

Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo

Of course, Mr. Lagerfeld’s selection of the world’s top models adds to the beauty of the centerpiece tableau, which grandly defines the space without overpowering its intimacy. Mr. Lagerfeld’s Odyssey concept for the pool area includes striking black and white outdoor furnishings, graphic table settings, crisp white umbrellas and cabanas, lush landscaping, and a cover for the winter months. Needless to say, this is a hot destination for evening cocktails and dining. At night star lights sparkle from the bottom of the pool and the guests are the glittering jewels. The internationally acclaimed Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo has always been a unique haven of luxury and style embodying the mystical aura and allure of the glittering principality of Monaco. With a mix as masterful as the cuisine at the hotel’s internationally acclaimed two-Michelin star Restaurant Joel Robuchon Monte-Carlo, the Hôtel Métropole’s is exceptional in every way. Elegant, opulent old-world glamour is shaken, not stirred, with a dash of modern decadence, and garnished with quiet refinement to create VIP service and comfort for its guests.
