After a Covid 19 absence, this year’s SXSW was a fabulous reunion of creatives from the world of tech, film, and music. From inspiring lecture sessions, film screenings, meet-ups, early morning workouts, music showcases, exhibitions, competitions, to late-night tacos the event offered incredible networking opportunities, and for Volkswagen to electrify South by Southwest with the North American debut of the ID. Buzz.
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz, is an electric reimagining of the brand’s iconic Microbus. This new classic made a first-ever public appearance at SXSW by hosting various “Buzz Stops” throughout the city of Austin, Texas, where attendees of SXSW and locals got to experience a coming chapter in the brand’s future.
Thanks to the team at Volkswagen we spent a bit of extra time with the European spec ID. Buzz and without getting into too many details let’s just say that there are all kinds of exciting and new tech under this groovy-looking package.
“The VW Microbus has been emblematic of cultural ideals that have inspired change and driven progress, both in the U.S. and globally,” said Scott Keogh, President, and CEO, of the Volkswagen Group of America. “South by Southwest’s commitment to innovation and technology, coupled with its access to culture and creativity makes it the perfect venue for the ID. Buzz to make its first-ever public appearance. We are excited to bring the ID. Buzz to Austin and showcase the innovation packed into this newest member of our EV lineup”
