In making two newsworthy declarations this past week Lamborghini flexed it muscle and style with bold enthusiasm. At Milan Men’s Fashion Week, and at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the new Lamborghini Urus Super Sport Utility Vehicle made its North American debut. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, Stefano Domenicali, was on hand to reveal Lamborghini’s third model line, the Urus, to a fabulous group of Lamborghini brand partners, influencers and members of the press at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.
“The North American International Auto Show and the city of Detroit are a key part of the international automotive community. It is with that in mind that we’ve chosen the Motor City as the first location to share our new Urus on U.S. shores,” said Domenicali. “The Urus embodies a new chapter for Lamborghini, with the performance and versatility one expects from a Lamborghini and with a new perspective for our growing brand. The United States is the number one market for Lamborghini globally, and we look forward to the first deliveries of the Urus to North American clients this year.”
With 1,095 cars delivered to customers, 2017 marked another record year for Lamborghini sales in the United States, and the URUS is expected to double the company’s sales, catapulting it into new dimension in 2019.
In terms of design, the Urus takes cues from Lamborghini’s signature design lines and its visceral and modern aesthetic known the world over. Drivers of all types, ranging from performance enthusiasts to those who revel in luxurious design, will find the Urus a breathtaking alternative in the current SUV market.

Equipped with 4WD and up to six different driving modes, plus customizable EGO mode, the Urus ensures comfortable daily usability along with heart-racing dynamics. Especially capable in off-road conditions, Urus provides optimal engine responsiveness, comfort and efficiency under all driving conditions and in any kind of terrain.
The Urus features a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 650 hp at 6,000 rpm. With 162.7 hp per liter, the Urus claims one of the highest specific power outputs in its class and the best weight-to-power ratio at 3.38 kg/hp. The Urus can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds. With a top speed of 189.5 mph, it is the fastest SUV available. The vehicle’s name, as has long been the tradition at Lamborghini, is derived from the animal kingdom. The Urus, an extinct European Bison, also known as Aurochs, is one of the large, wild ancestors of domestic cattle. The Spanish fighting bull, as bred for the past 500 years, is close to the Urus in its appearance and matched with its strength. Lamborghini Urus
