Sukeina FW 2022

Sukeina

CFDA Fashion Fund Finalist

Using a sophisticated origami technique and knotting, Omar Salam creates silhouettes with the timeless elegance of ancient Roman urns.
Salam’s distinctly modern take on classicalism shares an embrace with vibrant plaids, electric colors, and the complex contrast of the structured with the fluid. Founded in 2012 and Sukeina and named after his mother, Sukeina means “bright light.” Youthful travel, a formal fashion education at Parson School of Design, and experience working at Sonia Rykiel and Christian Lacroix influenced the designers greatly. His vision of elegance, feminity, and independence define his collection.

F/W 2022

The formality in Salam’s designs is brilliantly offset by the softness of generosity, the allure of his ‘bright light,’ and the contrast between the hard and the soft.
Mr. Salam has collaborated with supermodel Coco Rocha for his last few collections, and the designer strives to use his creativity to empower women with inner confidence. Salam is a 2022 CFDA Fashion Fund Finalist. We are excited to see what the support and funding will bring to the House of Sukeina.
