The American tradition of the great road trip is back in vogue. As more folks and families are saying goodbye to air travel a new world of nearby destinations for road trip warriors and adventures is opening up. For our six-hour, 400-mile drive from New York City we went with the 170mph track-ready Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition, powered by a fantastic supercharged 5.0 liter V8 that blends performance with luxury. With interior comforts that rival guest suites at 5-star hotels and performance that propels this vehicle beyond its SUV classification to that of a pure GT, our journey was seamless.

The truth be told, we never topped out at 170mph, but knowing you could do was a comfort, as was the car’s agility getting on and off the highways. With the car in Eco mode, we set out for Chautauqua County New York. Along the scenic drive, on our was to the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, we stopped in Allegheny National Forest situated in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, Panama Rocks, and the National Comedy Center in Jamestown.

In between our stops we enjoyed the amazing scenery, comfortable seating, the perfect ride, and the fantastic sound system. Photographer David Lewis Taylor captured this crazy fast Range Rover at rest and it was clear to us that every Range Rover has the soul racer with an abundance of ‘get up and go!’
