City Life All-New Z

For The Passionate Only

The new Z comes standard with both an automatic and a 6-speed manual transmission. This 2023 Nissan Z is the most powerful Z ever offered with its 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine which is an epic fit for this six-speed manual. Driving this is such a thrill, if you don’t know how to drive a stick you should learn.

Nissan told us that this new Z is built for enthusiasts by enthusiasts but we can see demand beyond that. We can’t ignore the mass appeal to that large group of younger buyers, those who are not familiar with the rich 50-plus-year heritage of this sports car icon.

“Z is the pure expression of Thrill. It is Nissan’s passion wrapped up on four wheels,” said Ashwani Gupta, representative executive officer, and chief operating officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. “The new Z retains its authenticity as a pure sports car to keep you connected to the road while bringing in the latest modern technologies to make sure the car can help keep you connected to your life.”

From country roads to city life the traits of the Z have always been its bond between the car and the driver. With this new Z, a new breed of drivers will get that human-machine bond, especially with the 6-speed manual transmission.
With that long hood and short rear deck, the exterior’s fresh design announces a domineering presence. Nissan said the design theme for the exterior and interior of this sports car is “tradition with modern technology.”

Most Powerful Z Ever

“Inspired by the voices of thousands of Z owners and Z lovers, and ignited by internal conversations around the six generations of Z that have come before, we found ourselves gravitating towards the sketches that touched the high points of certain decades while remaining true to our vision of the future,” said Alfonso Albaisa, global head of design at Nissan. “Ultimately, we created a Z that travels between the decades while being completely modern.”

Our photo car in Ikazuchi Yellow was that talk all around NYC during our drive as well as on the back roads of upstate NY. Everywhere we went everyone gawked at the car they wanted to know all about it. We were happy to allow onlookers to look inside and see how this sports car is designed to fit the driver and passenger like a glove. The 2023 Z cabin seamlessly blends modern technology with vintage touches. The center stack takes inspiration from other Zs before it, with three analog pod gauges on the instrument panel, an 8.0-inch touchscreen audio display in the center, and climate control switches near the shifter, making the Z an ideal sports car cabin for all driving scenes.

Nissan is offering the Z in Sport and Performance grades, each with a choice of a 6-speed manual or new 9-speed automatic transmission. All models include standard driver assistance and safety technologies, including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning.

The truth is the Z enthusiasts know everything about this sports car and have been waiting patiently to see one up close or to take a thrilling test drive but you don’t have to be a Z-enthusiasts to see or enjoy all the joy of driving a hot and coveted 2023 Z.
