It is a seemingly simple task, yet some auto companies make it very complicated. Just create a mind-blowing two-seater. One that is sporty on the curvy roads of upstate New York, an insanely responsive abettor in escapes from the city and a thrilling co-conspirator to drive on the open roads. The team at Nissan has sent the a 370Z Nismo developed by Nissan’s Specialty Vehicles Group in partnership with tuning partner Autech Japan, to answer our request.
It boasts a race-inspired interior and exterior, specially tuned suspension, and lightweight alloy wheels. The NISMO model is the most extreme 370Z available from the factory, a fact that its aggressive sheet metal announces loudly and proudly. Up front, new touches include a much more aggressive fascia along with black headlight bezels and LED daytime running lights. Fresh side sills adorn the flanks, and a new bumper and downsized rear spoiler reside around back. Other stylistic changes that set it apart from the rest of the Z-car lineup include black and red accents on the front and rear fascias, side sills, mirrors and rear spoiler.
The 370z NISMO continues to use a tuned version of Nissan’s 3.7-liter “VQ” V6 that produces 350 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque – gains of 18 ponies and 6 lb-ft over the base model. The 370Z NISMO’s GT-R-inspired functional and fully integrated aerodynamic body pieces provide an aggressive and more aerodynamic appearance, along with optimizing front and rear downforce. The standard 19-inch NISMO super-lightweight forged aluminum-alloy wheels by RAYS feature a twin-five spoke design and a charcoal gray machine finish. Inside it is all about the driver, and their passenger. The NISMO-styled unique interior features black-and-red Recaro® leather-appointed seats with Alcantara® accents. The seats were designed with Recaro® specifically for the 370Z NISMO to provide more uniform body pressure and better all-direction holding during spirited acceleration, braking and cornering. The interior also features red seat trim and stitching with NISMO logo, an Alcantara®-appointed leather-wrapped steering wheel with red center stripe and NISMO red tachometer.
