If you stun yourself with a double-take at a new Mitsubishi Outlander we know just how you feel. With the Outlander, Mitsubishi’s design team has created a bold and refreshing design statement and with that, we are keeping the need to broadcast the latest design trends, available at any price, with this Mitsubishi being very newsworthy.
After a recent breakfast in Midtown Miami, we had the opportunity to take a road trip to Everglades National Park in the Mitsubishi Outlander. The 2022 Outlander was crafted under the design language of “I-Fu-Do-Do,” which means “authentic and majestic” in Japanese. The majestic design begins with the broad “Dynamic Shield” grille which brings heft and proportion to the muscular design.
This is Mitsubishi’s all-new flagship. From its newly developed platform and power train, bold ’look at me’ exterior styling to its refined interior the Outlander has the feel of a vehicle that could easily be priced at $10k – $15K more. Outlander also features more standard driver connectivity and driver assistance features and a re-engineered, upgraded version of the brand’s signature Super All-wheel Control (S-AWC)2 all-wheel-drive system.
Inside the Outlander the quiet and serene space showcases quality and convenience through class-above materials, seating for seven in the segment’s only standard equipment third-row. The control and infotainment panels include a large 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch center screen and the technology is complete with newly available wireless smartphone charging capability with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. The newly developed drive mode selector will have you smiling with confidence that you have a drive mode to meet any driving requirement. The performance and grip can be tailored to the conditions through six distinct settings, increasing on-road and off-pavement performance. Even two-wheel-drive models are fitted within the drive-mode selector, offering five distinct modes in this setup.
While the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is among a very crowded market segment the Outlander can hold its own, and it worth strong consideration for anyone shopping for an SUV this size.
Is this new Outlander a contender for World Car Of The Year for 2020? We think it should be! 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander.
