The F-Type SVR Coupe is Jaguar’s most powerful F-TYPE sports car ever. Attention grabbing while at rest, the F-Type SVR Coupe garners stares and envy with every rev of its powerful engine. Developed by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, the F-Type SVR Coupe has a supercharged, 5.0-liter V-8 and eight-speed automatic that takes it from 0 to 200mph with ease and with power to spare.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR Coupe is about 110 pounds lighter than the Jaguar F-Type R. From its flat underbody and an active rear spoiler, to its carbon-ceramic brakes the car is designed for aerodynamic performance. The design team at Jaguar told us that the single most effective device developed for the F-TYPE SVR is its deployable rear spoiler that makes the SVR more aerodynamically efficient when raised. In the SVR’s front the anti-roll bar was softened and with the addition of new shocks and lighter wheels, poundage was further reduced. In contrast to the R the SVR gets wider tires specially formulated by Pirelli, designed to moved the balance rearward, making the rear tires work just a bit harder.
When you walk up to the SVR your eye is drawn to the enlarged air intakes in the front bumper. In addition to just looking so damn cool the revised air coolers and redesigned hood vents deliver corresponding improvements in cooling system performance and power train efficiency.
Once you get into the SVR you will notice the bespoke interior that features detailing and the comprehensive, industry leading Jaguar infotainment system. The 14-way SVR performance seats is a marvel. Finished in Jet leather with a signatures lozenge quilt pattern and offset with contrast stitching, micro-piping and headrests embossed with the SVR logo. Owners have the option of Siena Tan or Red leather upholstery. The unique anodized aluminum shift paddles are larger than those in other F-TYPE models making gear changing even more instinctive.
The driver-focused theme of the ‘one-plus-one’ layout is enhanced with a suede/cloth covering for the instrument cluster and center console is reminiscent of the F-TYPE concept CX-16. We were also blown away with the sound from the 770W Meridian surround sound audio system. The familiar Jaguar InControl Apps, smartphone connectivity and Jaguar InControl®Protect™ emergency and breakdown call system is all in place. The F-TYPE SVR also offers the latest Jaguar InControl Remote functionality.
