The 2018 Q50 has an updated and larger version of Infiniti’s signature grill and the designs distinguish the sport and luxury appointed models. There are two distinct bumpers, the sport models get a more aggressive lower bumper with sharper crease lines and the luxury version is dialed back for a softer look. At the rear you have an updated bumper with a new diffuser for Sport models.
Inside the new Q50 you will find some elements from the Q60 coupe, such as a more premium-looking shift lever and a revised three-spoke steering wheel and improved materials throughout for a more luxurious feel.
The Q50’s drive-by-wire steering system has been refined and the car’s stability control system has been re-programmed to be a less intrusive and to work almost the same way the fly-by-wire system works on the Airbus A350.
The 2018 Q50 is available in 12 models, with four power train choices and rear-wheel and all-wheel drive available across all trim levels. The team at Infiniti also has a new pricing structure for the Q50 that gives customers the option to choose between especially contented LUXE and SPORT models at similar price points. With this refreshed look of the Q50 Infiniti is introducing a new global grade naming structure: PURE, LUXE, SPORT and RED SPORT 400.
The 2018 Q50 has a variety innovative power train options. At the top of the 2018 availability Q50 power plants is the exclusive VR-series 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, which was recently named to the prestigious 2017 Ward’s 10 Best Engines list. It is available in two states of tune – 400 horsepower or 300 horsepower. All 2018 Q50 models come equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission with available steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The INFINITI Drive Mode Selector with Snow, Eco, Standard, Sport and Personal settings is also standard on all models, part of the INFINITI InTuition™ System, an advanced customizable digital environment system that allows drivers to create unique settings for engine, suspension and steering (when equipped with INFINITI Direct Adaptive Steering®) settings.
