GR Supra

Just Damn Fun

Car aficionados and fans of four-wheel fun alike have been heeding the rumors of a new Supra for years. Was this going to happen, and how? It had to be a “Wow!” car. If Toyota was going to build another Supra, the designers had to go all-in. That was the clarion call of action from the CEO, Akio Toyoda, and thanks to Project Chief Designer Nobuo Nakamura the Toyota Supra is back. The first new Supra in over 21 years is a showcase of design and balance with anticipatory fans from far and wide. Available now our 2020 GR Supra 3.0 Premium is just damn fun to drive and offers a supercar experience that can’t be matched at this price point.

The GR Supra aerodynamic F1-like design is certainly eye-catching with the pushing of the cockpit far rearward within the wheelbase. This form not only helps achieve near 50:50 weight distribution for optimal handling performance but also emphasizes the classic proportions associated with a rear-drive, inline-six-cylinder engine sports car. Even the wraparound windshield thematically recalls an F1 racing helmet visor.

Behind the wheel, drive on every curvy road, and straightaway you can find to experience the blend of power, precision, and agility of this rear-wheel-drive design that honors Toyota sports car heritage engineered today with a low center of gravity and optimal weight balance.

Design Inspired by Toyota Sports Car Icons

There is a strong connection to Toyota’s 1967 2000 GT and 1993-2002 Supra in both design and mechanical configuration. Yet, the 2020 Supra is a fully forward-looking sports car, brimming with a cutting-edge power train, chassis, and multimedia technology.

The statement-making front fascia with a prominent central grille flanked by large air intakes to the rear integrated spoiler, which helps to suppress aerodynamic lift, pays homage to the tall rear wing that was available on the fourth-gen Supra Turbo. The trapezoidal rear bumper shape conveys a dynamic sense of movement toward the tires.

The six-lens LED headlights are designed to integrate both the daytime running lamps and turn signal functions to create a distinctive lighting signature for the new Supra. The rear combination lamps feature a purposeful structure with the turn, tail, and stop functions integrated into the distinctive main ring shape. The backup lamps feature white LEDs located in the center of the lower bumper. Our GR Super test car came in dramatic Phantom Matte Gray that emphasized the Supra’s tautly curved surfaces by combining a matte finish with a hint of blue.

The 2020 Supra features a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six that produces 335 hp with an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers quick up and downshifts and features paddle shifters that have you imagining you are on the closed streets of Monaco for the F1 and not the Long Island Expressway.
