BMW ALPINA B7

205mph Of Style

To put the top speed of the BMW Alpina B7 in perspective, a Delta Air Lines’ Airbus A321 has a takeoff speed of about 160mph which is far shy of the B7’s top speed of 205mph or easy cruise of about 180mph. No real surprise here that BMW Alpina B7 is fast but crazy fast we were not expecting. Your not bragging when you say your car is the fast, just stating the truth to anyone that will listen.
This B7 is the sixth generation of the full-size performance luxury model from ALPINA and the third generation of B7 to be available here in the U.S. Thanks to a twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 600 hp the new B7 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 205 mph with ease. The new B7 also features the latest generation 8-speed sport automatic transmission with ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC. The transmission software has been thoroughly reworked by ALPINA and adapted specifically to the performance characteristics of the twin-turbocharged V8, offering exceptional driving comfort and performance in all situations, but it is the stainless steel ALPINA sports exhaust system that is standout. Also, the active exhaust valves allowed us the ability to change the sound experience by using the Driving Experience Control switch to select between Comfort and Sport Mode and that just kept the joy on our face.

The World's Fastest Sedan

Alpina B7

One look at our photos you can see that the design makes a very bold style statement with that fabulous iconic BMW kidney grille that has now grown in size and with the new slim headlights that give this new B7 a more modern appearance. A new front bumper with functional air intakes, free-floating ALPINA lettering, and horizontal character lines works in conjunction with the rear spoiler to effectively reduce lift to almost zero at the front and rear axle for excellent high-speed stability. At the back theB7’s stainless steel sports exhaust system features two elliptical twin tailpipes that are neatly integrated into the rear bumper and give the rear a smooth, elegant look. Once inside you get that sense of an open Soho loft or a bespoke G650ER cabin crafted with carefully selected materials. Inside the harmoniously coordinated design details and exclusive workmanship that are combined to create a luxurious interior ambiance with a range of standard equipment that will have your friend with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG S 65 looking at your B7 with envy. Driving the B7 guarantees the very highest level of pure driving that is second to none. Your comfortable and always track-ready B7’s Active Roll Stabilization will minimize body movement when facing that apex or curvy country road. The rear-axle steering of the standard Integral Active Steering system gives the new ALPINA B7 class-leading levels of dynamic performance and light-footed handling.

We could go into a very deep dive about the new B7 but it is best just pass by a BMW store on the drive home from work and check one out. Be sure to ask the dealer to show you the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, standard on the new ALPINA B7. This new BMW system is an intelligent, digital helper which responds to the prompt “Hey BMW” and is an intrinsic element of the iDrive 7 operating system, and can respond with a new ‘long way’ home after work every day.
