The first thing you notice with this 6,000 pound Bentley is that it is a true drivers car with it’s 6.75-liter twin-turbo charged V-8 engine compete with 530 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. Boasting the ability to achieve 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds, the Mulsanne goes from 0 to 100 mph in a mere 11.1 seconds, and its top speed is 190 mph.

 

When driving the Mulsanne Speed through curvier sections of highway or  on a country road, the Bentley mode or Sport mode are preferable, as they maintain ride comfort while better enabling the side-to-side transitions required at a brisk pace. Bentley Motors president for the Americas, Michael Winkler recommended the Sport mode for an improved feel and maximum comfort on our recent drive.

Inside, fabulous luxe-wood veneers wrap around the entire cabin reminding many owners of the interiors of their private plane or a world-class yacht moored in Monaco Harbor. The impeccable interior appointments include finished metal vents with classic Bentley pulls knobs. The rear cabin is equally an entertainment oasis. With a sound system that included a 20-speaker Naim sound system, and video monitors located in the backs of the front-seat headrests, entertainment is a premium. There are picnic tables trays that motor up and out of the front seat while revealing the iPad and a Bluetooth keyboard for passengers use. The rear cabin also includes a bottle cooler for wine or champagne and matching flutes for service, making the ride home less of a chore.
