The New Veloster

Hyundai's new high-performance Veloster N model for the U.S. market on location in Germany showing off at Nurburgring

Thank You South Korea

For K-pop & The Veloster

In 2011, when the Hyundai Veloster was first sold in the US, many youthful consumers turned their backs on Ford and Honda. New consumers excited by the innovations and styling of the Veloster, created an enthusiastic buzz about Hyundai’s foray into this segment. The fabulous and new 2019 Veloster has the competition scratching its collective head once again. This grown up Veloster is at a new level and the Veloster Turbo and the new high-performance Veloster N are causing a stir. The Veloster N, Hyundai’s highest performance vehicle ever offered in the US market is stylish with levels of craftsmanship on par with Audi and Alfa Romeo. Conversations about the new wave of South Korean style go far beyond state-of-the-art hotels and shopping malls in Seoul and the worldwide K-pop phenomenon to include Hyundai and its Veloster.

The design was a great partnership between Hyundai designers from Seoul, South Korea and the U.S. design center in Irvine, California.

“Our new 2019 Veloster represents an even more compelling offering for young and young-at-heart automotive enthusiasts with more expressive design, involving dynamics and cutting-edge infotainment features,” said Mike O’Brien, aviation enthusiast and vice president of Product, Corporate and Digital Planning at Hyundai Motor America. “When combined with Hyundai’s outstanding value and efficiency, the new Veloster is sure to attract a progressive new group of enthusiast buyers.” For 2019 The Veloster does keep that design appeal of a German sport coupe with the versatility of an additional passenger side rear door in an asymmetrical two-plus-one configuration for easier rear-seat access. The new available LED headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights accent the bold statement-making new grille design. Functional air curtains add both a visual design cue and an active aerodynamic function. Hyundai’s signature cascade grille shape has morphed into a strong, three-dimensional design that is a style stand out. The team at Hyundai told us that much of the redesign is derived from enhanced proportions and volume. The available full-darkened roof treatment creates a high-contrast high-performance appearance.  Along with the rear design, distinctive glass hatch and center-fascia the chrome exhaust tips, with a single outlet for the 2.0-liter model and dual-outlets for Turbo and R-Spec models, streamline the appearance. The new driver focused interior layout, and on the Turbo Ultimate, a contrasting color treatment that visually separates the driving cockpit, has you set for an excellent driving experience. Each trim level has unique colors, materials, and accents, further differentiating each model with varying hues and textures. For many owners the former Veloster may have been considered their weekend ride but with the new 2019 Veloster collection there is a car for all levels of need and want, including the super sporty manual Veloster, the perfect weekend ride.
