Nissan LEAF, introduced only 10 years ago, with a streamlined silhouette that maximizes aerodynamic efficiency, is the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle. The innovative design and technology paved the way for EV adoption. With more than 500,000 LEAFs sold worldwide, it has been one of the best-selling electric vehicles for the past 10 years. The LEAF delivers an exciting EV performance coupled with cutting-edge technology.
Today, for 2021, LEAF is available in two versions, LEAF, and the extended-range LEAF PLUS. The standard LEAF is equipped with a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 110-kW electric motor that delivers 147 horsepower, 236 lb-ft of torque, and up to 149 miles of range and the LEAF PLUS features a larger-capacity 62-kWh lithium-ion battery that gives you the increasing range to up to 226 miles and a powerful 160 kW motor that produces 214 horsepower.
Also for 2021, the LEAF features a full-color 8-inch display. Advanced technologies include standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, available Nissan Door to Door Navigation, and NissanConnect EV and services, which allows a remote connection to the vehicle to start a charge, monitor the state of a charge, and turn on the heat or A/C before ever getting into the vehicle.
Nissan also did some enhancing to LEAF’s driving experience with the standard e-Pedal, which allows the driver to start, accelerate, decelerate and come to a full stop and hold by using only the accelerator pedal. With its spacious and highly functional interior that comfortably accommodates five people, the all-electric LEAF is a breeze to own and operate.
