I am a massive fan of the Moncler Genius Program that teams up with various designers and allows them to completely immerse themselves into innovation and experimentation. For its latest addition to the Moncler Genius roster, the new 2 Moncler 1952 Collection, the company looked back at its heritage for inspiration. The program references the label’s origins and establishment in a small village in the Haute Savoie Mountains in 1952. Taking form in both men’s and women’s wear, Moncler injects freshness into its apparel through an array of vibrant colors and eye-catching silhouettes. The brand’s iconic puffer jacket is reworked in both laqué and matte nylon materials, all boasting concentrated variants of colors such as bright orange, blue, red, purple and green. Tying the theme together is a faithful interpretation of the label’s alpine roots, reproduced in the form of outerwear, sweaters, padded scarves and patchework, all paying homage to famous ski resorts such as Park City, Aspen, Gstaad, Telluride and Courchevel 1850. In addition, an embossed comic strip appliqué detail serves as a subtle nod to ’80s culture, and the modernity of this label. Moncler.
