When it came time to put the pen on paper to design a Range Rover that would be the best of the best, Design Director and Chief Creative Officer for Land Rover Gerry McGovern’s vision was clear. He envisioned lengthening the Range Rover and reefing the silhouette so that the vehicle did not seem noticeably larger. The interior rear cabin should simulate the comforts and spaciousness of a top-of-the-line gulfstream. To further his vision of excellence this car should be as nimble as a car half it’s size and be complete with the legendary power of a Range Rover.
His Range Rover SV Autobiography LWB is an impressive realization of intentions, and the best of the best is now out for all to enjoy.
At the top of the Range Rover line-up, the fabulous Range Rover SVAutobiography offers exclusivity that can only be found in a Range Rover. Starting with it’s bespoke exterior design and tailored interiors the level of design detail and performance enhancements is extensive and impressive. The high-performance 550PS V8 Supercharged power plant makes the Range Rover SVAutobiography the most powerful Range Rover in history, with the engineering keeps the brand’s famed off-road capability in tact. The Range Rover SVAutobiography is also available in standard wheelbase derivatives with the full line-up of Range Rover’s power trains. Our test car had the new 550PS V8 Supercharged engine.
The SVAutobiography is now one of the world’s most luxurious and capable vehicles. We drove a handsome SVAutobiography with a unique white body color, cut and contrasted with a streamlined black roof. Gerry McGovern said: ‘With the SVAutobiography, we have taken the opportunity to optimize greater levels of luxury execution and precision to the Range Rover, while delivering beautiful levels of detailing that considerably enhance the customer’s experience of our flagship vehicle”
For the driver the standout appointments are all at hand, including masculine and faceted rotary controls in solid aluminum with knurled details that are echoed in the foot pedals. The detailing, dials and touch-controls in both the front and rear centre console are chic, precise and well, everything.
The rear cabin offers luxurious seating complete with a chiller compartment and powered deployable tables. Solid aluminum coat hooks are incorporated into the rear pillars, and aluminum seat rail finishers and deep twist pile mohair carpet mats complete the finishing touches.
SVAutobiography offers the option of a sliding loadspace floor. Made from beautifully crafted aluminum and a choice of veneer options, the floor extends rearwards to give the best ease of use. The Range Rover’s split tailgate make life easy, the team at SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) has developed ‘Event Seating’. Stowed in the luggage compartment, Event Seating, hand-crated with beautifully stitched Windsor leather, can be quickly and easily deployed to provide comfortable seats for two adults on the tailgate. The Range Rover SV Autobiography LWB is distinguished with the new Range Rover hood lettering and the tailgate is fitted with the new SVAutobiography badging. An exclusive front grille is finished in distinctive Graphite Atlas and polished chrome, further telling the world this is something special. Range Rover SV Autobiography LWB.
