There is an all-new Lincoln Navigator back on the roads. Impossible to miss and even harder to forget. From its aggressively bold grill to its wide stance and imposing, yet elegant presence the Lincoln Navigator is stunning the competition. Its Black Label Editions are the pinnacle of luxury in the large SUV market place. With more and more Lincoln Navigators dominating the roadways it is certain that both Infiniti and Cadillac, makers of the QX80 and the Escalade respectively, have their eye on the rear view mirror.
Named 2018 North American Truck of the Year this past January The Lincoln Navigator is drawing both basic and luxury customers. With the Black Label trim package, the Lincoln Navigator’s price can top out at $103K, prompting many to rethink the allure of the Mercedes-Benz GLS.
The 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that makes 450 horsepower, mates to a 10-speed automatic transmission and powers this beast with on-ramp firepower.
When designing the Navigator, we put an emphasis on ultra-luxury touch points,” says David Woodhouse, Lincoln design director. “We took everything the client would see and touch, and made sure it would look and feel a little more exuberant, a little more indulgent and incredibly beautiful.
Like the Gulfstream G650 or 650ER each occupants comfort is considered. The driver and front-seat passenger enjoy Perfect Position Seats, which offer massage, heating and cooling functionality, and the seats can be adjusted up to 30 different ways. Our test car was outfitted with a rear-seat entertainment system allowing passengers to stream content wirelessly with an Android device to one of the 10-inch adjustable screens mounted on the rear of the front seats.
Each rear screen can display different content to provide personalized entertainment experience for every passenger. The entertainment can be streamed through more traditional devices like an SD card, an HDMI cord or a USB, as well as through SYNC AppLink™, which permits the front-seat passenger to monitor and select viewing content. Through Lincoln’s agreement with Sling Media, those who own a Slingbox can access their TV channels on the go. The standard Wi-Fi allows for up to 10 mobile devices at a time to be connected. Our test car features Revel® Ultima audio with 20 speakers placed to work in concert with Navigator’s interior design and acoustics and the sound was transcending. This system transforms the cabin into a personal theater compete with three distinct listening modes, Stereo, Audience and On-Stage.
