BMW Alpina B7

Harmoniously Coordinated Design

The BMW Performance Center West in Palm Springs California played host to our first look at the all-new Alpina B7. This 30 acre site featuring an exclusive paddock, track area and 1.6-mile road course was the perfect spot to show off this ‘super sedan’ with max speed at 205 mph and 0 – 60 mph acceleration 3.5 seconds.

This new B7 is the 6th generation full-size performance-luxury model from Alpina that will, once again, set new standards for others in this segment.

The design of the 7 has been the base of the Alpina B7 for years. For 2020 this ride is making an even better statement with safety, style, speed, and technological advancements.  The iconic BMW kidney grill has grown in size and function in tandem with the new fabulously slim headlights the vehicle front end makes a powerful design statement. The new fresh modern design of the Alpina styling and aerodynamic elements accentuate the visual presence of the new Alpina B7 and its performance character that is second to none.

It is impressed upon us, before our first drive, that this new Alpina B7 xDrive sedan will impress us with its sharpened responsiveness and enhanced power delivery over the entire rpm range.

Design Statement Made

The latest generation 4.4-liter V8 engine with two, twin-scroll turbochargers, direct injection and Valvetronic fully variable valve timing and Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing, delivers 600 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. For those of us that will find ourselves in a snowstorm will be happy to hear that the all-wheel drive system builds upon the technical potential of BMW’s xDrive system and its intelligent distribution of drive power which continuously distributes torque between the front and rear axle within milliseconds for maximum traction and control.

Performance Plus

The programming of the torque distribution control, which is connected with the Dynamic Stability Control and the engine management system, is performance-oriented and increases agility and driving dynamics markedly – especially under lateral acceleration – while maintaining balanced and neutral handling in short your in control not the weather.

Once inside this all-new ALPINA B7 xDrive Sedan you will notice the luxury of space with carefully selected materials with details and workmanship combine to create a luxurious interior and escape from the outside. Along with a large range of standard equipment the Alpina B7 is designed to ensure maximum comfort for driver and passengers alike.

Napa leather, multifunctional comfort seats, leather instrument panel, ceramic inserts on control elements and soft close doors come as standard. Features such as a full-color head-up display, a rear view camera, and the latest BMW iDrive 7 navigation and communication systems help support effortless driving.

Subtle Alpina detailing ads exclusivity and individual style to the new Alpina B7’s interior and the luxurious appointments are indeed quite fine. Hand-finished using exceptionally high-quality Lavalina leather, the sports steering wheel with blue and green stitching is captivating at the very first touch due to its luxurious feel, but it is the newly designed instrument cluster and Control Display, together with the inclusion of new functions that had us falling in love with this B7 even more.  BMW
